Administrative & Outreach Coordinator
We are seeking someone who:
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys interacting with the public by phone and in person in an office setting, and occasionally at community events
- Has basic bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks preferred)
- Familiar with basic office software for word processing and spreadsheets
- Is highly organized, conscientious, and detail-oriented
- Maintains a positive, professional attitude
- Enjoys being involved in the community
- Associate degree or higher OR at least two (2) years of relevant experience in office administration, bookkeeping, or community outreach. Relevant volunteer experience may be considered.
Bookkeeping & Administrative Support
- Prepare and record payables and receivables
- Assist with financial documentation
- Coordinate with the organization’s accounting firm
- Support Board of Directors meetings (prepare materials and take minutes)
Office Coordination- Greet visitors and answer phones
- Respond to travel inquiries via phone, email, and mail
- Manage office supplies and vendor communications
- Prepare correspondence and mailings
- Maintain organized office systems and records
Community & Event Support
- Represent Putnam County Tourism at community events
- Assist with tourism events and outreach initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, merchants, artisans, and community partners
- Help maintain listings and tourism information resources
Position Details- 20–23 hours per week
- Minimum of 3 workdays per week
- Occasional evening/weekend work required for events (scheduled in advance)
- Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs.)
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
- Paid time off and paid state holidays
- Pay commensurate with experience
- 20–23 hours per week
Candidates may be required to submit to a background check and drug screening.
Pay Range: $17-21 / hour, based on qualifications and experience.
