We're looking to hire an Accounting/Tax Associate in our Hurricane, WV office located at 3845 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526. 

Walls & Associates is a certified public accounting firm serving the needs of businesses and individuals in the tri-state area of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. We have offices in Milton, Hamlin Hurricane, and Point Pleasant, West Virginia. We also serve clients virtually allowing us to expand our services beyond the tri-state area. We specialize in organizations serving the energy, manufacturing, real estate, and many other industries as well as nonprofit organizations and fiduciary clients. Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting/Tax Associate to join our team in our Hurricane, WV office located at 3845 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526. Our ideal candidate should have two or more years of public accounting and tax experience. While a CPA license or EA designation is preferred, it is not a requirement of this job position, but would allow for an increase in compensation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and maintain current and prospective client relationships.
  • Provide high quality and timely services to our clients.
  • Prepare tax returns of various levels of complexity, including corporation, individual, partnership, fiduciary, and non-profit income tax returns.
  • Bookkeeping and data entry.
  • Prepare client payrolls and payroll tax returns.
  • Assist with financial compilation and review engagements.
  • Research and consult with management on various client-related tax matters.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries from the IRS and other tax agencies on a timely manner.
  • Participate in networking and business development activities on behalf of the firm.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Two years plus of public accounting and tax experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as a team member.
  • Previous tax return preparation experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters products preferred.
  • Ability to consistently exercise good ethical judgement in dealing with a variety of issues and situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Tax experience: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPA (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Hurricane, WV 25526: Relocate before starting work (Required)
