Description

This trail event is a tribute to local hero, Cpl. Williams B. Fulks, who was assigned to the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. On May 1, 2006, Cpl Fulks was wounded while conducting combat operations in Iraq by a blast inflicting second and third degree burns along with massive internal injuries. Cpl. Fulks succumbed to his wounds on Thursday, 18 May 2006 – just three days after his 23rd birthday.
