About

As the state's chief economic and community development agency, the West Virginia Development Office improves the quality of life for all West Virginians by strengthening the state's communities and expanding its economy to create more and better jobs.

The West Virginia Council for Community and Economic Development, a group of private-sector leaders who serve without compensation, directs and oversees the agency in a true public-private partnership.

The West Virginia Development Office actively promotes the growth of the state's economy through business startups, retention and expansion of existing industry, and the attraction of new industry. Representatives work closely with local level economic developers. The office supports a strong international investment and export effort and also is aggressively involved in the improved quality of life and services for the state's communities.
